We want children to join together as one school community and to feel pride in belonging to The Alton 

Our school uniform is compulsory and has been designed to get the balance between looking smart and being practical for a busy, active day at primary school. Please ensure that your child wears the correct uniform for The Alton each day. 

In line with the Department for Education’s statutory guidance on the cost of school uniforms, uniform with The Alton logo on is optional and unbranded uniform in school colours can be purchased through most major supermarkets and department stores. Items in italic are available from the school office.

As part of our school commitment to sustainability, we encourage parents to 'reuse, reduce and recycle' by purchasing pre-loved uniform where possible. We sometimes have supplies of pre-loved uniform available which is sold for minimal cost at the school office, with proceeds going to support the school. If you have any good quality second hand uniform that your children have grown out of, please do pass it to Mrs. Gibbs for resale.

Children may wear:

• Grey or navy skirts, pinafore dresses, or trousers 

• White shirts or polo shirts

• Polo shirts with the school logo 

• Navy school sweatshirt with logo

• Navy school cardigan with logo 

• Polar fleece with logo

• School summer dresses in either green or navy

• Plain white, grey, or black socks or tights

• Plain black trainers or school shoes

• Nursery children may wear navy or grey joggers instead of trousers

For PE children should wear

• Plain red, blue, yellow or green T shirt depending which house your child is in.  Please check at the school office.

• Navy shorts or joggers

• Plain Black trainers or plimsolls
