NURSERY ADMISSIONS

Welcome to The Alton Nursery

Article ImageThank you for your interest in The Alton Primary School. We are a vibrant and inclusive school at the centre of our local community, located just by Richmond Park. We were judged Ofsted 'Good' in November 2019 and are part of the Quality First Education Trust.

Your child may be admitted to The Alton Nursery the term after they have turned 3 years old.  We offer a free full time nursery place to all children regardless of whether their parents are working/eligible for government funding.

Parents who qualify for the 30 hours free childcare must register with the government for this service.  For further information and to check eligibility please visit Gov.uk apply for 30 hours free childcare

Please note that children who are currently in The Alton’s Nursery are not guaranteed a place in our Reception. In line with local authority procedures, a separate application for Reception has to be made.

School Tours

A school tour is a great way to see our wonderful school and ask any questions you may have. We hold regular in-person school tours, usually on the first Tuesday of every month. If you would like to book a place on a tour, please email Mrs Gibbs on admin@thealton.q1e.org.uk or call us on 020 8876 8482.

Applying for a Nursery Place

Settling your child into Nursery

We arrange for families to visit the school in the summer term before your child begins school, to meet other children and staff. We then visit all new Nursery children at home, before school starts in the autumn. This gives the child a positive way to meet their new teachers in their home environment. The nursery staff will share with you our aims and routines, and answer any questions you may have concerning your child's start at school.
